Welcome to Our Camps!
What is Camp Silah? The word Silah in Arabic means connection, which is the theme of our camp. We hope that by the end of the camp, each participant will have a better connection with their fellow campers, themselves, and nature.
AboutCamp Silah is a summer camp for the youth, ages 11-18, of the Portland metropolitan area. It was launched in the summer of 2018 as a 3 day test run. It was such a huge success that we have decided to keep it going every summer. This is a sleepaway camp which lasts for 4 days and 3 nights. This camp blends refugee kids with non-refugee kids in a beautiful harmonious way and makes refugee kids feel like they belong to the Portland community.

What is Camp Mahara? The word Mahara in Arabic means skill, which is the theme of our camp. We hope that by the end of the camp, each participant will learn one or more new skills, connect with animals, their fellow campers, and nature.
AboutCamp Mahara, which launched in the summer of 2021, is a summer camp catering to youth aged 11 to 18 from the Portland metropolitan area. This three-day day camp not only unites refugee and non-refugee youth, teaches useful and fun life skills, but it also offers a therapeutic experience through interactions with farm animals. The presence of these animals adds an additional layer of healing and emotional well-being for the campers, enhancing their overall experience.
