* SNAP: The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, formerly known as the Food Stamp Program, provides food-purchasing assistance for low- and no-income people living in the United States.

* TANF: The Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program provides cash assistance to low-income families with children while they strive to become self-sufficient. Cash assistance is intended to meet a family's basic needs such as food, clothing, shelter and utilities. Most cash benefits in Oregon are issued via an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card. This is also known as an Oregon Trail Card.

How can clients request assistance from PRSG?
If you are a PRSG client who needs assistance, please do the following:
  • Speak with your volunteer (if you have one) about the need. Work with the volunteer to look for available resources other than PRSG. If no other resources are available, you should work with the volunteer to complete the "Financial Aid Request" form on this page.

If you don't have a volunteer, please do the following:
  • Arabic speakers can contact Ala at ala@pdxrsg.org, or text/call her at 971-427-0173.
  • Pashto & Dari speakers can contact Elaha at elaha@pdxrsg.org, or text/call her at 971-427-0174.
